So, you probably want to know a little bit about me (your current or future teacher). I grew up in small-town New York (Ithaca, to be exact--and no, it's not New York City). After graduating from the State University of New York College at Cortland, my husband and I moved south to beautiful Charlotte, NC where we still love to live. With my bachelor's degree in English Education, I started my teaching career in CMS in 1996 and have been here ever since. I am currently in my 18th year (14 of those teaching ninth grade!), and still love what I do!
I am the mother of two sassy pre-teen girls, Cate (12) and Caroline (9). Cate dances, plays viola and guitar, and has recently taken up soccer with AYSO 605. Caroline has been playing soccer for years and is getting better season by season! She is also slightly obsessed with both Pokemon and Minecraft--neither of which I profess to understand.
While I am not chauffeurring them about, I like to run, read, and veg out with whatever new series I'm addicted to on Netflix (it's Dexter, currently) or a good book (Game of Thrones #4 right now). I don't watch any TV, really, except for The Walking Dead, and yes, I'm addicted! I also have an unhealthy addiction to RedBull, but that's what gives me the energy necessary for teaching freshmen every day!
I hope in learning a bit about me, you will find it easy to approach me to talk, ask questions, and come to me with any issues you may have. I look forward to working with you and your families.
